The Department of Surgery is comprised of:

1. the Surgical Ward,
2. Operating Theatres,
3. Hospital Speciality Clinic (HSC),
4. Day Surgery Unit,
5. Central Sterile Supplies Department.

The Surgical Ward is a 40 bedded unit with 18 double patient rooms, 2 single patient rooms plus 2 VIP suites. Cases are received as elective or emergency from the HSC and the Accident & Emergency Room and also as transferes and refferals from other hospitals.

Surgical services provided are General Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Pediatric Surgery, Urological, Ophthalmic, ENT, Plastic Surgery and Renal Transplantation.
The Hospital is able to provide all the various specialities in surgery. Malignancy cases requiring surgery are operated upon in the hospital and then transferred to other facilities within the Jeddah area for chemotherapy.

The nursing system implemented on the ward is principally Primary Care Nursing with support from the Team Care approach as necessary.
