The Department of Preventive Medicine consists of ten main sections and three subdivisions as shown in the diagram.
The primary function of the department is to prevent and control infectious diseases both within the community and within the hospital. This is achieved by teaching the target communities the essentials of healthy living coupled with regular follow-ups. The School Health Programme and Vaccination Programme cater for the future generations. |
